This central African catfish seems at home with my collection of African Cichlids. He seems to do well in the naturally hard Calgary (Canada) water and has learned to ignore the territorial assertions of his tankmates. He spent the first several months of his residency in seclusion, coming out to feed only at night, but now he rushes around to claim his share of pellets during daytime feedings. The Decorus has a very long dorsal spine, large brown spots, and grows to 30 cm.

A great adition to the aquarium, but can be shy if mixed with aggressive spieces. I have 6 decorus in a 380 liter tank and all are between 25-30 cm long. They always move in a tightly packed school and are not as nocturnal as expected, if they have lots of refugees to retreat to if needed. Great colours and 10-12 cm fin extensions make this fish a real eye catcher.

I have kept these fish in softer water conditions and is doing well. It is not as bold as most Syno's, but my fish became less shy when I added 4 more to the tank and now they form a tightly packed group wherever they go. It's really something to see, as they are now about 18 cm long each.

An excellent African fish! It can be kept in many water conditions. A shy, nightlife fish. It can be very friendly with the human presence and he is Mr. Ignorance with other fishes. It reaches almost 30 cm length and is one of the best fishes to keep in your aquarium.

The decorated squeaker is one awesome catfish and is a must for serious aquarists. They go well with other squeakers, cyprinids and some cichlids and they are very good addition to a community tank. They dwell most on the sands, eating on sinking pellets and fishfood debris, which is very beneficial since they minimize the uneaten feeds. This squeaker is similar to the featherfin squeaker, they only differ on the patterns of their colorations.
